I completed a 22.2 km trail run in a banana suit. Was this a great idea? Probably not. Do I regret it? Absolutely not.
For my first real run since my marathon, I decided to compete in a half marathon at Elk Lake and there was a Halloween theme. At my work, we often compete in these races and we take turns for who gets to wear the famous, never been washed banana outfit. It was my turn.
I decided to run with one of the women I work with and she decided to wear a sign that said “split” so that we would sum up to a full banana split.
My run went relatively well. It was very painful, but I was happy to be running with a friend. We took just over 2 hours to do the half marathon.
This was my 6th race of the year and my final. I am going to focus on shorter distances to keep my cardio and work on my strength to hopefully increase my strength for the next season.
