In class, we learned about how to use video conferencing to be able to communicate between different locations in real-time. This includes both video and auditory presentation.

Should this form of media communication be accessible? Should it be enforced? Is it helpful? Can we give choice to modality?

In terms of accessibility, apparently it is becoming more accessible and affordable. This is a new form of technology and it is really awesome, but I am still uncertain if this is equally as effective and hands-on as an in-class experience. I think that some things could be more effective and efficient when done online, but sometimes it is more beneficial to be able to interact with someone one- on- one in person.

Typically in classes, there is either face to face or online, no in-between and no structure. This could be enforced but you must regulate what the guidelines and parameters are.  We are able to implement a blended approach to education, some online time and some face to face educational instruction. Blended does not meet modality needs.

I think overall it is essential to allow students to have the ability to do what is comfortable to them and to use this technology to get opportunities that you might not have had otherwise.
