How can we use video games to learn?

A lot of people would love to hear that we can use Minecraft in an educational sense. So how does this look?

  1. Teamwork. Minecraft requires a ton of teamwork if you are working with people collaboratively. One of my classmates and I worked together to build a house made of pink wool. We worked together to make this establishment to keep ourselves safe from the outdoors and to hold our many dogs in.
  2. Understanding coordinates. We often got lost when we were somewhere in the world and we had to use the coordinates of our home to find our way back.
  3. Problem-solving. You are often working with people who are trying to sabotage you or trying to kill your avatar and you need to figure out how to get out of this situation.
  4. Life skills. This game helps with the understanding of life skills. You have to farm, have pets, care for yourself, and protect yourself. Although the details are not expressed, you can understand general concepts.

A huge thank you to our visiting teachers that educated us on the aspects of Minecraft.
